There’s some irony in me writing this post today as I’ve been off work sick with a horrible cold, and my workwear has comprised of my PJs.
When looking for new workwear Matalan might not instantly spring to mind, at least it didn’t for me until I popped in there during a visit to Liverpool and picked up two mid-length pencil skirts – one green, one in red and black houndstooth – for £20. That’s £20 for both, not each. Since then I’ve worn them a few times and always get loads of compliments, and looks of surprise, when I tell people where they’re from.
So it seemed rude not to share what they have to offer in the Matalan Women SS collection.
I completely love this dress, who says things need to be dark colours? It’s spring, bring some life into the office!
This scuba dress definitely looks more than its £16 price tag. I also love long sleeved dresses, perfect for over-active air conditioning system.
I’m not going to lie, I’m sightly obsessed with this skirt. It’s so cute and summery and I love the organza panel.
A bit of tailoring doesn’t go amiss, and a print makes it feel less less you’re in a generic work experience suit jacket.
I don’t think I’ve worn trousers to work since I started a full-time job, as they just bring back memories of Sixth Form Saturday jobs. But this style could help me to change my mind. Maybe a t-shirt and statement necklace to finish it off?
