I do love trying out new skincare products, especially face masks. I was interested when Natura Siberica got in touch and asked me if I would like to review one of their products.
They sent me the Natura Siberica Northern Soap for Deep Facial Cleansing. Catchy name. Just because its called soap don’t think it’s a bar, or that it will be drying.
The sponge is black for a reason – the soap really is black. Anything else would look ruined after one use. It dries out between uses, but run under the tap and it comes to life again.
There’s a bit of a technique to applying it. Dampen the sponge before running it around inside the tub. Don’t make the sponge too wet or it will make the soap too thin when you’re trying to scoop it out. But also don’t get too much on or it is hard to apply. This makes it sound overly-complicated.
Soap face! It sits on the skin rather than covering in the way that a face mask does.
After applying it over the skin, gently sponge it off. I tend to do it before I get in the shower, so I can wash off all the last little bits. Also because it is black it does tend to get everywhere and washing off the last bits in the shower makes it easier.
The first time I used it I made the mistake of using toner afterwards, and this dried out my skin. It doesn’t need to have anything else, the soap does all the work on its own.
I’ve been using this a couple of times a week for the past couple of months now, and my skin is fresh and clear. I haven’t needed to use another face mask in the time either. The tub is also big and because you only need a small amount each time it really lasts.
