The spring has been pretty slow in getting here this year but at least the tress in London Fields have been kept warm.
Appearing out of nowhere, trees, statues and railings are being given lovely colourful coats as part of the Yarn Bombing movement. Spreading around the world, eager knitters have picked up their needles to create a touch of lovely brightness for the still-bare branches.
In February the trees in front of Hackney Town Hall were given the Yarn Bombing treatment and were a riot of colour for a few days, although a solitary pom-pom here and there lingered a little longer.
Now the woolly blankets have moved up Mare Street to London Fields. Wonder if Broadway Market will be next?
