I do love a good blogger event. Blogging twosome Soeurs de Luxe hosted the #bloggersxmas in a very quiet Moorgate on a Saturday afternoon. I had the pleasure of attending with my lovely friend Keely, who, as it turned out, had a more exciting day than I did.
There was mix of festive treats and brands to meet with on the day. There was Joe Browns with their mix of glitzy party pieces and quirky daywear.
After mising out on the Karma Moments event because I was bedbound with a chest infection it was nice to see Jewellery Box again and their pretty little silver pieces. They also won the stall of the day with the amazing Christmas-theme stand.
Then there were hats. Hats! Katherine Elizabeth had a range of colourful designs perfect for weddings and the races (whether you’re an Ascot or Aintree kind of girl). I bloody love hats so this was my happy place. She told me she’s due to open up a shop at the bottom of the Oxo tower soon – very exiting times.
If the mini designs of Jewellery Box aren’t your thing, Sheena Bulsara there with her range of incredible reworked vintage designs. Huge, chunky pieces made up of vintage and antique jewellery to create something new.
On the theme of reworking, Jewelled Buddha create scarfs and necklaces from reworked saris. The designs are created by a collective of women in India and help with financial empowerment, as well as being sustainable. They’re also beautiful. I really fell for the hand-dyed scarves, they had an incredible graphic-print quality to them.
In among the pretty things were also delicious things. Sweet Cheesus are based by me in Stoke Newington (Hackney forever) and make a range of delicious mini cheesecakes. They have stockists around London, but mainly concentrated around Hackney it seems. All the more for me then.
Also in the capital is Gia London, making clutchbags in a range of either neon-brights, or gold-spattered designs.
There were competitions throughout the day too, including the chance to win a voucher for Red Letter Days by placing a wish on the tree. And look at it, it’s pretty.
And did I say competitions? At the end of the day I headed off with Keely’s Nails for a Starbucks (green tea latte, obviously). She was reading out the competition winners from Twitter as I moaned that it’s always people who are still at an event who win prizes. To which she told me she’d won a hamper!
So here’s a fairly bad pic of Keely and her goodies. What an end to the day!
Thanks to the Soeurs de Luxe girls for putting on the event – some serious effort goes into coordinating an event like that.
