I don’t know about you, but so far this winter has been suspiciously mild. There was no chance of a White Christmas with the temperature staying so warm. But to me this just means there’s a cold snap coming for us. And we’d better be prepared.
The team at JD Williams invited me to have a look at some of their winter coats and pick out my favourites.
I kind of love this navy blue formal style from Joe Browns. It just looks so cosy and I love the fur collar, it’s like a built in scarf. It just makes me want to go ice-skating like in a Russian fairy tale.
I’ve seen loads of people wearing teddy coats already this year, and they’re just so cute. You look like a massive teddy bear. You’ll be as cosy as a teddy bear. What is not to love?
I love the sage green of this Monsoon coat. I always stick to more traditional tailored styles but like to find things in interesting colours so it doesn’t look too plain. I love the shape of this coat too. It’s so classic, but the outfit with it shows how easy it is to update a look. Wear it with skinny jeans? Looks great? Team it with a tea dress? Looks vintage.
And finally, go for leopard print. I wholeheartedly agree with Caitlin Moran’s assertion that leopard print is a neutral. Wear it with anything. It will go with it all. It gives extra glam to jeans or looks timeless when dressed with neutrals, or you can go full on Bet Lynch and dress it with your chunkiest jewellery.
