In the middle of Chiang Mai is Wat Chedi Luang temple. It used to be higher but it’s thought that it collapsed following an earthquake, and just the stump remains. The temple also used to be the home of the Emerald Buddha, which I met when I was in Bangkok.
I saw some novice monks walking around. It was funny to watch them, they’re still just kids and they were running about and pushing into each other.
The temple has the really interesting concept of running the Monk Chat Program. This did make me think of Father Ted. Sorry.
